7 Things You Never Knew About Irobot Vacuum
The iRobot Roomba 980 Robot Vacuum Cleaner
Robot vacuums sweep pet hair, dust and lint from floors before they settle. They also can avoid obstacles like furniture that is tippy and staircases.
The majority of robotic vacuums require regular maintenance. This involves emptying the bin (and sometimes rinsing it) and wiping the sensors and cameras. They also need to be plugged in. Many come with smartphone applications for scheduling, setting and more.
iRobot Roomba 980
The iRobot Roomba 980, the most recent of a series of top-of-the-line robot vacuums, is a must for every modern home. This model has seriously strong suction as well as an HEPA filter that'll assist anyone suffering from allergies. Additionally, it also has a strong battery that can clean for up to two hours, and it will automatically return to its dock when it is full.

Smart mapping is a different feature that helps it identify areas of your home that require attention and creates a path for cleaning around them. We've seen this technology in action and it does a great job of maneuvering around toys placed on the floor or furniture legs that stick out from under the furniture. It also has a sensor that will snap Roomba back to reality when it begins to wander away from its original position.
iRobot has also introduced a new set of rollers beneath the bottom of the Roomba that don't have bristles and, therefore, tend to be more resistant to tangles than earlier models. The rollers are also larger and can be placed under low couches or beds. They're specifically designed to make this model more maneuverable on different floor types.
What sets the Roomba 980 apart from other high-end models however, is its inclusion of a new dirt detection feature that uses cameras to identify particles of dirt embedded. This is an improvement over the previous model which relied on the use of a sensor-driven pseudorandom cover to bounce around the room and scrub the area three times, at different angles.
The Roomba 980 performed well in our tests on both carpets and hard floors. It scored extremely well on carpets with low pile and on mid-pile. It was successful in picking up pet hair but struggled with thick and long pet hair that was stuck together.
Despite robot mop , the Roomba 980 remains one of our best-performing robots, and it's even close to being as expensive as some of the other top-of-the-line models on this list. It still has a lot of features that we'd expect to see in a flagship model, but it doesn't have all the fancy apps or smart home integration that are found in other top contenders.
The iRobot Roomba is simple to set up and get running right away. After removing the yellow bin insert and pull tab from the undercarriage, you just plug it into an outlet on the wall or to its Home Base docking stations, click the "Clean button" and let it do its work. It will automatically return to its dock when its battery runs out or it's stuffed with debris. It also has indicators on the top for when its bin is full, it needs to be recharged or its Wi-Fi signal is lost.
